Call for fieldwork grants 2016 IFRA – Nairobi

IFRA-Nairobi is offering fieldwork grants to masters and doctoral students to conduct research in 2016 in one of the five East African countries covered by the Institute: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda.

IFRA’s main research themes include: political dynamics, culture and society, economy and land issues.

The following topics are currently top priority for IFRA:

  • Elections in East Africa : institutions& performances
  • Violence, security : daily practices, discourses, local trajectories
  • Informal trade and rural-urban linkages
  • Large scale investments
  • Social inequalities, morality and authority

Note that all applications will be reviewed and that some of the grants will be given to students of non priority topics.

Feedback will be given before November 20th, 2015.
